Hopefully it resembles some form of transparency and curiosity about shifting creative practices. The critic, the self, the relationship they have etc. etc. That being said, I keep wondering if a process that feels easy can also hold some underlying rigor? Thinking a lot about how constructing a live set has changed over the years. How its transformed from a borderline painful endeavor of seeking only the most “truest” sounds (so problematic) formed from some twisted additive lens (start from nothing, excavate, dissatisfaction, fury and then compromise) - boring. I got so fed up with the doubt that would always follow that I needed to change something and not start from scratch. Just because it can be easy doesn’t mean its lost value. Trying to remind myself of this.
