Isabella Koen is a sound artist, producer, DJ, educator, and curator whose work explores listening as both material and method.

Working within and against the language of techno, she uses recontextualization, distortion, and improvisation to create conditions where familiarity and uncertainty exist side by side.

Koen's work spans immersive all-hardware live performances and recorded works, each drawing from original compositions, collected sounds, and an evolving archive assembled through years of listening. Fragments of sound become vessels rather than markers of influence. As sounds are broken apart, eroded, and reconstituted, they create space for listening histories to intersect, where individual experiences quietly become part of a shared one. Rather than prescribing meaning, her work creates conditions where meaning can emerge through listening.
